Church of Christ Singles
So you're having a problem getting on the site?
If you forgot your password - Go here.
If you didn't forget your password and username but still can't get on the site:
Possible explainations. . .
You may not have the "accept cookies" feature turned on in your internet browser.
How would I know you ask? Well, when you enrolled did you enter your username. . . then go to a page where you chose a password. . . and THEN did you go to a page where you entered a bunch of biographical information about yourself (age, email address, location, etc.)?
If you didn't see this you don't have cookies turned on! You need to turn the "Accept Cookies" feature on then re-enroll in the site (Sorry - but that's the way it works!).
You may have been told to turn this off - but cookies are just harmless text files that this server asks your computer to make. They allow my site to keep track of which page you are on, allow you to log in and out and keep your information private.
The way you turn cookies on:
First: check what web browser you're using. The way to do this: open your web browser, click on "Help" (near the top of this window), choose "About {web browser name}". This will open a window that tells you which web browser you have, and what version.
Once you have this information: there is a great up-to-date guide at: Accepting Cookies Guide
If for some reason that page has a problem, look through the information we have on doing this.
Internet Explorer 6 or above:
From the Tools menu, click Internet Options. Click the Privacy tab. Change the setting to Medium High or lower.
Internet Explorer 5:
Click Tools, and then click Internet Options. Click the Security tab. Click the
Internet zone. Select a security level other than High. -or-
Click Custom Level, scroll to the Cookies section, and then click Enable for both cookie options.
Internet Explorer 4:
At the top of the "window" click "View". Then click "Internet Options". Then click the tab that says "Advanced". Then scroll down the page until you see a yellow triangle and under that check the box that says: "Always Accept Cookies". If you like you can switch this back off once you log off of www.ChurchofChristSingles.com - it's up to you.
AOL 5.0
Go to "My AOL" from their toolbar across the top of the screen. . .
Click on "Preferences". Click on "WWW". Click on "Security". Make sure that once Security comes up that "Internet" at the top left of the little window is highlighted. If not click on it.
Just below the middle of the screen will be a button saying "Custom Level" -
click on it. Scroll down the window that appears until you see "Cookies" - it shouldn't be
too far from the top. Make sure "Allow Cookies Per-Session (Not Stored)" is enabled. Click "OK".
Netscape 6.2 or above:
From the Edit menu, click Preferences. Click the arrow next to Privacy & Security. Click Cookies. Select Enable All Cookies.
Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or above:
From the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Privacy icon. Click the plus sign next to Cookies. Click the box to Allow sites to set Cookies.
Like I said you'll need to re-join the site since you didn't have cookies turned on the first time you joined the site - you should still be able to get that same name/password without any problem!
To "rejoin" the site go here.
